Reason CMS: Open Source Content Management for Higher Education
Plaster Student Union Ballroom
Reason Content Management System (CMS) is an open-source project initiated by Carleton College with the goal of a semantic, maintainable, extensible Web publishing platform for higher education. During this poster session, we will use Reason to build an entire website from scratch, including a blog, podcast, slideshow, events calendar, and more. While building the site, we will present the continued evolution of Reason, and talk about recent developments, including enhanced database-backed forms, granular and dynamic permissions, a classified module, a caching engine, blogging improvements, and more. We will answer questions people might have about joining the community of institutions using Reason to power their Web presences, showcase schools already using Reason, and provide information about future plans for the system.
