SMO & SEO: Promoting your Website
Plaster Student Union Ballroom
Social Media Optimization (SMO) refers to the process of optimizing a website in order to generate publicity for it through social media channels. Besides being able to drive huge amounts of traffic to a website, SMO can raise positive dialog about the website brand. On the other hand, the Web growth in content and complexity added to the explosion of remote devices connected to it are the ingredients for the Search Era recipe. In this context, refining your website to be positioned among the top10 results in search engines' user queries is one of the best and cheapest ways of getting the right people visiting it. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) refers to the process of optimizing a website in order to get a privileged position in searches. Both processes - SMO and SEO - act on the codes and content of webpages. This presentation will discuss how they must work together to generate the best results for promoting a website.
