Active Desktop, LaunchPad & Gadgets: Internal Audience Interfaces
Plaster Student Union Ballroom
As Web developers we are constantly focused on the external window into the university. This session urges us to think about small, simple steps that can provide quick access to many of the resources that students, faculty and staff use daily. we'll share examples of how we've incorporated the Active Desktop on student access stations, providing one-click access to Blackboard, e-mail, library resources, etc. We also examine the Banner LaunchPad, created to give similar one-click access to faculty and staff to the Banner administrative system. Finally, we'll consider the challenges that Vista has imposed by abandoning Active Desktop.
