Prolonging the Engagement: Connecting with Incoming Students Throughout the Summer
Plaster Student Union Ballroom
In 2006 Xavier University launched its award-winning website The Road to Xavier – a social networking Web application for newly-admitted freshmen. The initial purpose of the site was to create a new way to communicate with students and allow them to communicate with each other – including online financial aid access, student profiles, and an ‘Inbox’. Now in its third year of use, the site has been expanded to keep the students interested and involved throughout the summer. This presentation will give a brief overview of the features of The Road to Xavier and look at the new additions and the purpose they serve in keeping the students involved and excited about the upcoming school year.
